Working predominantly in Acrylic, often adding ink, charcoal and pencil, I enjoying capturing the contrasts of Cornwall. I like the constraints working in acrylics provides, having to work fast and loose as the paint dries quickly. I love bold, vivid, colour and like to portray this in my paintings.
I paint in series, around 3 or 4 paintings at the same time which allows me to move from one painting to the other as I make decisions, wait for paint to dry or just leave a piece to sit for a while as I contemplate my next move.
