FAQ’s

How do I find out when new work is available?

The best way is via the newsletter I send out every 8 weeks or so, with tasty tit bits of Arty things going on in Cornwall, hints & tips for choosing art for your home and updates on new and upcoming work. You can sign up here. My Instagram account has the most current snapshots of my work in progress - if you’re on Instagram you can follow me here.

Can you advise on frames?

I’d be happy to offer advice on framing -  I've spent 20+ years as in Interior Designer and know how important it is to get it right. Feel free to email me with the painting you like and a description (or better still a photograph) of the room it is intended for and I can give you an idea.

Some pieces are offered framed, some are unframed so you can choose your own frame to suit your interior - this is also more cost effective for you. Please see the individual product description for framing. If you like a piece, but either it isn’t framed or you’re not keen on its current frame, I can arrange for it to be (re)framed for you. Please contact me for an estimate for frame costs and delivery times. The impact of Covid and Brexit on supply chains can mean framing takes longer than usual. Please bear this in mind when choosing whether to frame the artwork once you’ve received it, or asking me to frame it.

Paintings on board or canvas do not require a glass front, they can be open framed.

Do Acrylic paints fade?

Acrylic paint is generally light resistant and will hold its colour, however it is advisable not to place artworks in direct, harsh sunlight.

Do you take commissions?

Yes. I particularly enjoy coastal and nautical scenes. Please give me a call or fill out my contact form and I will get in touch to talk through your ideas with you.

PURCHASING

I want you to be thoroughly happy with your new art. If you have any queries please contact me in advance at hello@chloewoods.co.uk

The photographs aim to show the artwork as accurately as possible. Be aware, the image you see on your screen may differ, depending on which device you are using or different screen settings. These differences are not deemed a fault or reason enough for returning a painting.

If you are in Cornwall I can arrange for you to see original artwork in the flesh / in situ. Please contact me if you’d like to do this.

How is my payment handled?
Payments are taken through PayPal or Wix Payments in British Pounds Sterling. You do not need to have a PayPal account to make a purchase; you can use the PayPal service to pay with your regular debit or credit card. Wix Payments is the web provider’s native payment solution. They securely handle debit and credit card payments from the most common providers. We do not store any of your debit/credit card details.

If you would like to pay by bank transfer (BACS), please contact me so I can show the artwork as reserved on the website (I have to do this manually for BACS purchases). This will avoid someone else buying the artwork via the website while you’re in the process of purchasing.

SHIPPING

Is Shipping included?
Most artwork has a shipping cost calculated at checkout, based on the size of the work and your location. I currently ship in the UK and ask that you contact me if you are outside the UK - see “Do you ship internationally?” below.

Do you ship internationally?
I can ship to most countries, although overseas shipments will take longer and may be subject to import duties and taxes set out by the destination country, which are the responsibility of you, the buyer. In some cases this can almost double the cost of the artwork.

I want you to know all the cost implications before you purchase artwork, which is why I currently only allow UK addresses at checkout. The website simplyduty.com can help calculate import duty and taxes. If you have seen a piece you love and are happy with these fees, please email me with your address and I can give you shipping options.

When will I receive my artwork?
If the artwork is for a specific / important date, please contact me beforehand to ensure I can get it to you on time.

Original artwork is packed and shipped within 5 working days. Within the UK artwork is sent by Royal Mail, Parcel Force or courier depending on size and weight.  For UK addresses, most deliveries arrive within 2 working days of shipping, please allow 7 working days. I will let you know the artwork has been despatched and, where possible, include tracking details.

Outside the UK, and with the knock on effects of Brexit and COVID still being felt, it is difficult for me to give exact timescales.  As before, please get in touch with your location and I can research the most cost effective and efficient way to get the artwork to you.

Can I collect my artwork?
Yes, if you are in Cornwall and you would like to collect, I am in Mabe Burnthouse TR10, near Falmouth.  You can either purchase the artwork via the website and email me to arrange collection or email me to let me know which artwork you would like and make payment via secure card reader or BACS when you collect the piece.

RETURNS

What if my artwork arrives and I don’t like it?
I want you to be fully happy with your new artwork so I offer a refund agreement.

If an original artwork is not as you expect, please contact me within 7 days of receipt by email at hello@chloewoods.co.uk and request a refund.

Once a return has been agreed;

  • You are responsible for packing and arranging return delivery using the same service it was sent to you (i.e. signed for courier or tracking service).

  • Please ensure it is well packaged to avoid damage in transit.

  • Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs and for any loss or damage in transit.

  • The artwork should be shipped within 14 days of me confirming the return.

  • Email me with tracking details so I know when to expect the returned artwork.

Once the piece has been safely returned, in its original condition and not damaged, I will refund your payment within 14 days.

What if my painting arrives damaged?
All work is carefully packaged so it is rare that this happens. However, if your artwork arrives damaged, please contact me within 7 days of receipt with photographs and a description of the damage. This will allow me to contact the delivery company regarding a claim.  I can then talk you through the return and refund process.
